Ambitious for a better legal future
Collaborative, thoughtful, energetic and excited for the future.
Contact UsShaped by our diverse backgrounds and depth of global experience, we help to foster better legal systems that can be shown to be effective and transformative.
Hook Tangaza, founded in 2016 by Alison Hook and Nankunda Katangaza, brings together an international and multidisciplinary team with decades of combined global expertise in the legal, justice and related business sectors. We are not a provider of legal services, though we have qualified lawyers from different jurisdictions in our ranks, working alongside economists and public policy experts. These diverse academic backgrounds and years of work experience shape our view that a fair, open and well-run legal sector can transform economies, businesses, societies and even individual lives, for the better. We love nothing more than working with ambitious organisations and individuals seeking to make a difference. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.

Mwathi Kitonga, Deputy CEO/Director Compliance & Ethics Directorate, Law Society of Kenya
We worked with Hook Tangaza on assessments of the impact of our pro bono work in Sierra Leone and how it could be more effectively organised and delivered. Hook Tangaza were excellent – they understood both how UK lawyers do international pro bono work and the Sierra Leone context, and made some very useful recommendations. They were a pleasure to work with.
Richard Honey KC, Barrister at Francis Taylor Building & Chairman of the steering group of the UK Sierra Leone Pro Bono Network
